notes: This video documents the installation of this piece in a group show called "The Joke Is Irresistible". The room was approximately 10' x 10' and the walls were painted in black semi-gloss paint. Each painting is about 49" x 49" x 6" including the frames and depicts the track listings of the following records: "Deserter's Songs" by Mercury Rev, "Spiderland" by Slint and "I See A Darkness" by Bonnie 'Prince' Billy. Behind each painting are speakers playing the corresponding album slowed down to 1/4 speed and run through a delay pedal. For this video I didn't use the ambient recording from the installation and instead overdubbed the treated recordings.
