I’ve Been Mad For Fucking Years
- Dimensions: 48" x 48"
- Medium/Materials: oil on gessoed panel
- Year: 2009
- notes: At some point in grad school I had the idea to make a text painting of the track list of an album and that the colors would be derived from the album cover. I choose "Dark Side Of The Moon" because it was one of the first albums I fell in love with as a teenager and giving the teenage obsessions that come with first loves it was one of two albums that I could name all of the songs from it in order, from memory. About fifteen minutes after I painter the first version of this Jerry Saltz popped in my studio. He was pretty much one of the last people I wanted to talk to about this painting I'd just made but I didn't have a choice. He was more enthusiastic than I thought he had any right to be so kept going but he did tell me I could never do The Beatles and I agreed with him.
